Well where do I start. Simon Smith is one of the nicest men I have ever had the pleasure to meet. From consultation he made me feel very comfortable, listened attentively to my concerns and what I wanted for my results, gave me a thorough consultation and then explained what my results would be like in comparison to my expectations. I had surgery with him and on the day he came to see me while I was waiting to be seen, he took some before photos and went through again his plans for surgery and what I wanted. He put me at ease immediately and then invited his anaesthetist Hywell in to see me. Again, he is also one of the nicest most pleasant men I've ever met. Softly spoken, very knowledgeable and his little jokes to keep me calm. He explained the anaesthetic and surgery and also about the pain expectations after short and long term after the surgery. When it was my turn to go into the operating room I went into a very warm atmosphere with more doctors / assistants who were just like Simon and Hywell, friendly, welcoming, chatty and made me so relaxed. Hywell got me my "gin and tonic" line in and I went to sleep with smiley faces and woke with a lovely nurse (I'm sorry I can't remember her name - 36w pregnant I think!) who again was wonderful. Simon - your whole team are amazing. Once I was back in the recovery lounge and Simon and Hywell came to visit me, they asked how I was feeling and the pain etc and took the binding off and the bra and he showed me a photo which oh my god he gave me everything and more than I was expecting. I went in expecting a huge improvement in what I had but nothing like I would have in an ideal world, however he gave me exactly that. Simon is a boob GOD he created something amazing from a complicated mass of nothing! I felt very reassured and comfortable with him as well as Hywell going through my after care and long term care for my new breasts. He mentioned where I had a huge weight loss and very big implants i was a bit of a complicated case and he would like to see me again to see how they are getting on. I did go via Harley medical group which I know Simon is director of, and see the nurses for my post op checks but the fact I will be seeing Simon again makes me very happy. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. I'll see you in 10y for my uplift and bigger implants!! (And hopefully Hywell won't be retired haha!) So much appreciation for you and your team and making someone who has had a lifelong mental hatred of her body finally feel in proportion and comfortable. Thankyou Simon!!!! When

I am a Senior Nurse of 34 years in the profession working currently in a CCQ Outstanding Trust (East London) so I both work with Consultants and as a patient, am at their mercy for health care. Mr Smith has provided me with excellent surgical care; not pompous, not condescending, not arrogant. Mr Smith has been both approachable and professional. He was also available to the clinical team when i had to return on a Saturday proving that despite negative media attention, the NHS is in fact 24 hours. A very satisfying experience and highly recommended if you have a choice!!

I was diagnosed with a grossly enlarged thyroid in late 2015. Initially it was thought I'd need to have a thoracic operation to remove the growth, this would have necessitated a stay in Basildon Hospital and a lengthy period of recovery. At my pre-op appointment with Mr Smith, he took a closer look at my scans and reassured me he'd be able to operate from the neck after all. From this first meeting with Simon to the operation itself and my post-op appointments, I felt totally confident in Simon's ability to do his best for me. He possesses that rare combination of being both down to earth and friendly, also highly intelligent and very skilled. It transpired that the growth was even larger than initially thought and may have been growing for as long as 25 years or more. But I'm now 9 months on from the operation and I feel so much better. I have suffered only minimal after effects - just some occasional reflux worthy of mention. I cannot recommend Mr Smith highly enough, he is an excellent surgeon. Many thanks.

I had breast augmentation surgery by Simon and am absolutely over the moon. He was understanding, friendly and explained the procedure thoroughly. I trusted him immediately and that's the most important thing. I am now 5 months post op and so so happy!
